Important Pre-Philmont dates (other than payment dates)
June 1 - Begin conditioning program - especially adults!
July 12 - A mandatory meeting for all participants and parents is tentatively scheduled
October 21-23 - pre-hike
November 18-20 - pre-hike
January 20-22 - pre-hike
February 17-19 - pre-hike
March 17-19 - pre-hike
April 7-9 - pre-hike
May 5-7 - pre-hike
Please recall that youth members are allowed two absences while our more mature members must participate in all but one pre-hike. No Exceptions!
Payment Schedule:
Estimated project cost = $1300 per person
(Includes Philmont registration, air fare, ground transportation, crew t-shirts, food for all pre-trek hikes, crew gear.)
Note: This is an estimate, and while we believe it reflects the actual cost, the number of participants, transportation expenses, etc., might result in modifications to this cost.

Cancellation Policy:
- Due to the cost of this event, once a deposit is made the participant is responsible for the entire payment of (estimated $1300).
- If a participant drops out and can find a replacement for his/her slot, then the replacement can pay the participant for the amount already paid. Replacements must be approved by the Philmont Planning Committee.
- A participant who drops out and cannot find a replacement is responsible for the entire payment unless a refund can be obtained without increasing the cost to other members of the contingent.
It will be important for us to develop a Philmont planning committee to divide the tasks in organizing this expedition. We should have a general meeting of all participants soon to discuss pre-hikes, planning committee, all the fun we will have at Philmont, etc.
Notice- All participates must be able to pass Philmont's health and weight requirements as stated in the 2006 Philmont Health and Medical Record and meet the Troop's pretrek hike requirement. Refunds are not given to individuals who do not meet these requirements. Participants must meet the 2006 requirements.
